Don’t be Blindsided
If you’re only planning for the BEST, you’re going to be blindsided by the rest.
Why should business owners prioritize succession planning?
While on The Ambitious Bookkeeper, Serena and I discussed three reasons why business owners should prioritize succession planning.
You need to plan for the unexpected. The unexpected can be anything from: Illness, injury, divorce, caregiving others, and even death. These types of unexpected events can be relevant to both the owner, and team members.
You need to plan for the expected. Sometimes we are planning a leave of absence. These situations can be anything from a sabbatical, maternity/paternity leave, or even a guilt-free vacation.
Exit Strategies
When business owners prioritize succession planning, you’re not only setting future self up for success, but you’re setting present self up for success.
